Getting ready at Cool Spring Center for a two-day retreat with Purple Heart Homes, and Marsha does a fly-over! Finally emerged from over a week of wind and rain....praise the lord!
AND SHE SAID "YES!" on a beautiful morning flight from Cool Spring with Josh and his lovely girlfriend, now fiancee, Taylor. A December 2016 wedding is planned. Congratulations to you both, and thanks to Melanie for capturing the magic moment in photos!
Thanks to Karen Leonard for inviting us to Oak Park Retirement Home in Salisbury where we had a blast giving folks rides all afternoon! Made lots of new friends. Thanks to Patric and Josie, Marsha, Dianne and Dusty...
The beautiful view, looking back at Big oh! and Cool Spring Center...we really are nestled in the woods, aren't we?
What a beautiful morning! The flight covered about 5.5 miles, gentle, but exciting for Natasha and Barry, our passengers from Hickory. Charles eased the balloon over the woods and ALMOST into a lovely mowed field, but then, a slow right turn took the balloon over a large corn field, beautiful corn! He stepped it down to just hovering over the corn where crew Diane, Dusty, Cathy and Kristie carried it through the rows and back into the waiting field of grass. Didn't touch the corn! Didn't notice the CRITTER CROSSING sign next to the corn field will we were done! Oh, my! Excellent teamwork all around.
Kristie and Charles have been ballooning, it seems like forever, but really only since 1981. This blog is a running log of fun flights and adventures in and around the Greater Cool Spring International Balloon Port and Space Museum, our home. Enjoy!
